Incurable breast cancer

Breast cancer is the type of cancer with the best prognosis. For everyone diagnosed, a presence of hope, positivity, and unity is essential during and after treatment. The significant focus on survival is valuable and vital for most people. However, one group may experience this focus as lonely and difficult.

"No one should have to feel lonely while dealing with breast cancer"

Every year, a lot of women are being diagnosed with incurable breast cancer. Because of the significant focus on survival, being incurable can to some feel like lonely and even like a taboo.

To show the group of incurables that they are heard, seen, and loved, we have been given the opportunity to make a statue of Cecilie, a mother of three that was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer when she was only 42 years old. A greater emphasis on the metastatic group could contribute to a better quality of life for people with metastasis and their relatives.
